The Annual Klondike has come!

The following event took place Saturday January 22, 2011.

The annual Boy Scout Winter Klondike has come.  Every January the district gets together, more than one district came this year.  About 13 Troops came to bear the cold and join in the events.  Boyscouts has been a part of my life since I was little.  Starting out as a little tiger cub i worked up form cub to Boyscouts.  I made Eagle in 1999.  I worked up the ranks as well as through the troop.  Running it my last couple years as Senior Patrol Leader.  Scouts has taught me so much over the years.  Leadership, camping in the wilderness, being a team player, working together and just overall being a better person and always helping out the community.  I have been staffing the Klondike since i was in my later years of Boyscouts, well over 13 years.

I run the speed ball event.  Kids come and throw a tennis ball.  I record their fast and slowest speeds.  Then we take the difference and that patrol wins.  We also have a trophy for the fastest pitch.  This year we did up to 14yrs of age and 14 and older.  I always have a blast, my brother does the branding event, and other leaders we grew up with are there running events to.  My dad and Mr. Marone usually walk around and make sure everything is running smoothly.  Mr. Rothfuss another leader we grew up with ran the flag retiring event.  Kids saw how to retire an old american flag.

The day was really cold!  I mean i froze my but off an i had lots of layers on!!!  But we had so much fun.  At the end we have a great sled race and everyone just has so much fun.  We took a break around 12 for lunch.  My dad made his famous chili.  Mrs Marone and my Mom came up to join us.  After words we cleaned up and I was off to Lowe's for work.  Sunday I work up early and went to work.  I was so tired, i worked from 8-5 and i couldn't wait to get the heck outta there.  I did some shopping and got some gas for the jeep.  Then home to clean up and a little TV.  Then off to bed.  Well enjoy the pics everyone!
