Liliana's Birthday!

This Saturday was Liliana's birthday!  Jay and Serean's little one turned 1!  The party was so much fun and Liliana was cute.  We had great food and the day was perfect.  Jay and Serean live behind me but I have known them both for many years.  Now that they are parents it's really awesome to just see them go from dating to married to parents.  The weekend was Quinnless but I got of work done, I worked on the bathroom up stairs as well as relaxed.  Sunday I went to church and took the day to take a walk, and catch up on some much needed rest.  Next weekend is going to be a big one!  Quinn turns 5 this Tuesday so expect some big post!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and rested up as well. I look forward to keeping everyone posted!

Always remember you are never alone!

Love
Christopher.

Happy Birthday Aunt Ro

This past Sunday we took my Aunt out for breakfast!  It was really nice we went to Moe's for lunch then back to her house for some presents and dessert!  My aunt has been such a big part of my life and Quinn's.  It was nice to celebrate it and all she does for us.  Lunch was awesome and we had just a great time talking and spending time together.  So I wanted to say Happy Birthday Aunt Ro!

Enjoy the pics!

Tuesday's Tip: Take the time to watch your little one sleep...

Sometimes its nice to just sit and watch them sleep.  I know the title may sound, well weird but when I dropped her off Sunday she was sleeping in the car.  I got her stuff ready and as I was getting her out of the car watched her sleep peacefully.  The weekend was filled with her running around and screaming, jumping and just being a kid but for the few moments before I got her out of the car I watched her sit peacefully, quiet and at bay.
Throughout time we have watched our kids sleep, maybe it’s because it’s a quiet time and we can finally see them without the noise or something breaking.  A time to reflect on what we have and how precious life is.  As older people look down at their little ones we can only see the future and how much they mean to us.  We watch them sleep in cars, their crib and in their beds.  The funny thing about life is as we get older and our kids watch over us, they will check in on us and watch us sleep.  Life always completes its self in some way or another.  We watch our children sleep and in turn as we grow old the watch over us.  I wanted to post this because life is so busy, we are always doing something, calling or texting people.  Reading or checking things online, we never get to really sit down and relax like families did in the past.  Sometimes I wonder how fast we are growing and maybe we should just slow down for a second.  I feel if we didn’t have to sleep we would work even harder, faster longer.  Sleep maybe the only thing making us not do something. Natures way of saying “just stop for a second’.  As I looked down at my little one I could only see how special she was but how much of the world she still has to learn about and experience.  All the good, bad happy even sad in the world we try to make it so they only see the good but we know like easy times comes difficult ones.
I encourage you to just take a moment to check in on your little ones as they sleep.  Take a minute to rest and watch them dream and wonder what the world has to offer.  As soon as they wake up it’s back to running around so take the moment to enjoy life when it’s slow and resting…

Always remember,
You are never alone…
Love,
Christopher

The weekend update!

This weekend was jam packed!  We started the weekend off with my parents and going to the October Fest!  My Mom side of the family is German so we went to show Quinn our heritage.  We got some German food and danced!  Some of the bands and singers come back every year, it is such an amazing event!  Quinn had such a good time, wait till you see the pictures.

The next day we went got up and had some breakfast and worked on some homework!  Quinn is getting so much better at writing her name and letters!  She is working very hard and we worked on them Saturday and Sunday!  to the Strong Museum of Play Quinn has been before so she was so excited, but today Quinn's good friend Alyese was with us!  The two girls had such a good time, running around and just playing with the toys and different games they had.  I always enjoyed going because of all the adult toys and things there are to see and do.  It is such an amazing place.  I can't wait to go again, I want to go and be with just adults so I can spend more time in the arcade area!  We went home and had some lunch, but the day was not over!  After we rested we headed over to Alyese's house, Vinny and Courtney and Alyese were so happy to have us over!  We had snacks and beverages, the girls played and just had so much fun.  Later we settled them down and watched some TV.  They are such good friends I can't wait to see them grow.  Sunday was a very special day and will post about that later this week!

The weekend was amazing and Quinn had so much fun, she got to try some new food, dance, hang out with her friends and just relax.  I can't wait for you to see the pic's!

Here we are at the Octoberfest!

It's Homework Time!

The last weekend I had Quinn we had some homework!  Quinn worked on her name and the letter B.  She had to write her name out a few times and work on her uppercase and lowercase b's.  She did so well we worked on her name and letters in the morning and took a few breaks and then went back to work.  The homework was done and we spent the rest of the day having dinner with my parents for her birthday.

Tomorrow I pick her up again and we will see what her homework is!  She still has to work on her name but I can't wait to see what other letters and projects she has.

Well here it is her first homework assignment!

Always remember,
You are never alone...

Love,
Christopher

Here she goes!

Doing a great job!

Keep up the good work!

Tuesdays tip: Get a head start on the cold weather!

Summer sometimes ends fast or slower than others.  This year the cold weather came in quick, getting Quinn ready for winter meant going through her cloths and seeing was to small or short.  Looking over her selection of pants and long sleeve shirts and sweatshirts.   Don’t get caught out in the cold, literally.  Make sure your child is ready for winter because if you don’t then two things, the go to school in tight older cloths, or you end up running to the store the night before picking out an outfit or two!  So now that September is here look over their outfits and check socks, pants, shirts and jackets.  Make sure not only do they fit, but are they comfortable.  Your child is growing so some cloths maybe long enough but still tight.  So make sure they try on different things and ask them how things feel and fit.  They will be honest with you, don’t worry…
Also remember sometimes fall has warm weather and that the winter comes late, don’t use this to not buy things and get ready!  I talked about how dangerous the sun is during summer well winter is just as dangerous so protect yourself and child.  Remember the seasons can change very fast so go through all their cloths, they are growing so always remember even though you may have some older things they can’t wear them because of how fast there growing!

Get ready for fall and have fun when it arrives!

Always remember,
You are never alone…
Love,
Christopher

Taking it back... Again...

Last weekend I took it back, again...  Which meant I took her back to my old stomping ground Plank North Elementary School.  I attended K-6 and they were some of the best years ever.  It's where you meet some of you closest friends and friends you may not stay in touch with but are bonded by those grades.  The playground has been upgraded but the things I played on as a kid were still there in tact.  I have taken Quinn there before and every time I go I can't believe the memories that flood in.  Chasing each other around playing games and just bonding and even teasing.

I still can't believe how when I walk around and look and touch the playground how I can just look back to my younger self and see all the amazing memories.  I can't believe how many of my classmates stayed and how many moved away.  Monday I brought my camera in to work and showed one of my fiends the pictures.  She went to Plank North and we were freinds growing up, different set of groups but we were connected by Plank North.  I showed her the old playground and she laughed and couldn't believe a lot of the equipment was still there.  Wet talked a little about some of the teachers we had and some of the fun times we enjoyed at our old school.

Quinn had so much fun she swung on the swings we went down the slides and just ran around.  She loves that playground and just being there always makes me happy.  We went home and ended up laying with some colored chalk, she loves drawing on the drive way.  After dinner I took her home and we started the week all over.  I just think its really amazing to go back and just see the memories flood in.  There are other playgrounds and places that do this that I have taken Quinn to so don't be surprised if you see a post like this again...

Always remember,
You are never alone...

Love,
Christopher
