Remind yourself to Relax.

So below is a link to my friends blog, she is a single Mom that I have been friends with for years now.  We share ideas and just talk frustrations with life.  She posted the following the other week and now I am piggybacking off it.  Take some time to check out her blog, she does a great job!

While at work the other day I had a little time to stop and eat some Dove Chocolate.  Dark with sea salt and Carmel.  One of my fav's!  The cute note inside said "Remind yourself to relax".  Being one of the busiest times of the year I just did so.  I wanted to remind you all take some time to just sit still.  Relax and unwind your mind and body.  We as Americans work to much!  We have kids, jobs, a home to maintain our cars.  We live a busy life with phones, computers, the TV so I say again.  STOP & RELAX.  It is a known fact we are over stressed and this can cause health issues!  At least once a day take a breath, close your eye's (unless your driving or doing something important!)  and just breath.  Take a few breaths and de-stress.  The work will get done and the world will keep turning.  Mental health is so very important, if the stress builds up it will show and take us down.  Companies encourage us to take vacation time, it has been proven to distress us and help us become better workers in the long run.

     Here are some tips!

When you get home get organized as best you can.  Get the kids settled and make dinner.  Get them on their homework and spend some time with them.

When they go to bed clean up, shower take a bath or just get in comfortable cloths.  Put on some nice soothing music as your distress.  Have a class of wine or a cup of tea.  I like to use a nice soothing blend of tea and honey.  The good honey, pure right off the comb.  You can find it in stores.  Then take some time to relax, read, watch some TV, talk to your loved ones.  Just don't think about work!  If you think about work then you just spend all your day working, and then some.  If you feel tired make sure you go to bed early and get a good nights sleep.  Rest is so very important and we all need it to maintain a good strong healthy lifestyle.

It is also a good idea if you have kids because you know they will be getting up the next day and will need your attesting to get them set for school.  Once the weekend comes, or a set of days you don't work take full advantage of it!  Go out with friends and enjoy their company.  Again, DON'T THINK ABOUT WORK!  I once took a class in college and the professor said the weekends were made for Michelob...  Now I'm not a big fan of that drink but he pretty much was saying work during the week and rest on the weekend/your day off!

You don't want to work your life away.  Enjoy everything that was given to us.  So I hope if you just got done reading this please take some time to take a mental time out!

Remind your self to relax...
Always remember,
You are never alone...
Love,
Christopher
